THE NAMES OF BIRDS April events in Hartford and Austin

John and Maggie are excited to be part of the upcoming Call of the Wild event at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, where they will read selected poems from Daniel Wollf’s The Names of Birds.

The Call of the Wild event, part of the Wadsworth’s First Thursday series, is a celebration of the natural world. In addition to the poetry reading, there will be live music, a tour of artworks depicting nature, and a screening of the film WILD.  The event is on April 2nd and begins at 5pm. More details can be found here.

As readers of this blog know, Daniel is the author of The Fight for Home: How (Parts of) New Orleans Came Back, the award-winning Sam Cooke biography You Send Me, and 4th of July, Asbury Park. He is also a musician, filmmaker, artist, and part of the Renzi/Sayles family!

Daniel’s new poetry collection, The Name of Birds, is a field guide to perception that explores how we see and approach the natural world.

Another live reading is scheduled for April 24th at the Malvern bookstore in Austin, Texas (more info here).

The Names of Birds can be purchased at Powell’s and Amazon.
