John’s 18th film, GO FOR SISTERS will be available on all major video-on-demand (VOD) platforms on August 12th and on DVD on August 19th. The movie will also be available on Netflix on August 22nd.
GO FOR SISTERS premiered at SXSW 2013 and was released in theaters last fall. The cast features LisaGay Hamilton, Edward James Olmos and Yolonda Ross, who received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her role as Fontayne.

Bernice (LisaGay Hamilton) and Fontayne grew up so close people said they could “go for sisters,” but time sent them down different paths. Twenty years later, those paths cross: Fontayne is a recovering addict fresh out of jail, and Bernice is her new parole officer. When Bernice’s son Rodney goes missing on the Mexican border, Bernice turns to her old friend for help. The pair enlists the services of disgraced ex-LAPD detective Freddy Suarez (Edward James Olmos) and plunge into the underbelly of Tijuana in search of Rodney
Peter Travers of Rolling Stone calls GO FOR SISTERS “a movie that stays inside your head long after you see it. It’s a keeper.”
